Wynyard Quarter

Most of the weekends over the past month have involved a paint brush and skirting boards. However the first weekend we were home, it was my mums birthday, so on Sunday, we headed into town and went to the Wynyard Quarter for a walk and some lunch.WynardQuarterAkl4

It was such a beautiful day and since most of the week it had been raining, nearly everyone was out so we found it quite difficult to find somewhere to eat as we didn’t have a reservation anywhere ( I would definitely recommend booking a table if you want to eat somewhere down on the water).   We walked down both sides of the wharf before finding a place to eat, where there was a table outside in the sun- although we ended up moving inside anyway- and there wasn’t a 40 minute wait for food.

We’ve been back in Auckland 2 months now and I still think this was the only day when the weather has been nice all day. So it was really nice to go out and re-explore the city a little bit. The Wynyard Quarter always has things on and there’s tonnes of restaurants to explore, check out their website  to see if anything is on when your in town.
